Pugs On Parade at the 69th Annual La Jolla Christmas Parade 2025
THANK YOU to everyone who joined us for the best walk of the year!!
Marching in the La Jolla Christmas Parade this year was an unforgettable experience for our entire Squishy Pup Meetup community. As both the organizer and sponsor of our parade entry, I had the joy of watching more than sixty pugs—and their wonderfully enthusiastic humans—come together to create one of the largest and most cheerful groups in the entire event.
Our festive grumble turned the parade route into a sea of wiggly tails and holiday spirit as we marched down Girard Ave. and Prospect St. in the heart of La Jolla. The pugs strutted proudly in joyful Christmas outfits, sparkling bows, and plenty of tinsel that shimmered in the warm winter sun. From Grinch pugs to peppermint-striped pups, the creativity and cuteness on display stopped people in their tracks. Everywhere we turned, families were smiling, pointing, petting and taking photos of our sweet pugs. The event organizers let me know after the parade that they felt our group had the best energy out of all the entries this year and I would have to strongly agree.
One of the most heartwarming highlights of the day came courtesy of the the parade announcers and the Mayor of San Diego, who featured adoptable pugs from the Pug Rescue of San Diego County. Seeing pug rescue representation at such a beloved community event was meaningful for all of us—and a perfect reminder of why we support our rescue organizations year-round.
The energy, the community spirit, and the pure joy of celebrating the holidays alongside so many pug lovers made this year’s parade truly special. Check out all of the event photos by visiting our google album.
We’re already looking forward to spreading even more cheer next year—bigger group, brighter costumes, and the same unmistakable Squishy Pup charm.
